How do we save this sinking planet? And in the process have an amazing life.
The secret is in the joining.
We’re all chasing our tails to be happy. But who cares if we live 100 years of an okayish life and contribute nothing to the fate of our kids.
Kids are such a delight. They draw us into their world of play if we release our white knuckle grip on adulting for a minute.
And they are a daily reality check of our responsibility to do whatever it takes to make sure they have a chance for their best life after we’re gone.
Take the Magic Matrix pill to Enlightenment
If only.
If only we could take a pill to wake us up. If only we could follow a certain set of rituals and hold our mouth in just the right way and we would be filled with Christ consciousness.
We’re on this path. Searching for the big goals. Fulfillment. Happiness. Higher consciousness. Oneness. Enlightenment. Heaven on Earth. God’s Kingdom. Never giving up. But feeling discouraged. Is it even possible to get there? Is it only reserved for a handful of the lucky who then desperately, in a calm voice, try to show us how to go through the door?
Like the Ocean, Oneness never goes away
It’s magical and also kind of creepy to know there is this world all around us that we’re not aware of. We know about it on a mental level. We get it. We believe in it. We have complete faith in it. But we don’t experience it.
It reminds me of Helen Keller’s journey. How do you teach a blind and deaf child the concept of communication? Her teacher had the patience and perseverance to keep trying. She knew it was possible. And finally, with the flow of water on her hand, it clicked. Helen Keller knew. And her world exploded and opened up. All those neurons went crazy to take it all in.
Oneness is like the world Helen Keller wasn’t aware of as a child. And like the ocean, it’s always there. Whether we’re at the beach experiencing it or far from its shores in a cube at work with no crumbs of a thought about it. It’s always there.
We can’t say the same thing about some of our grand lakes. At the rate we’re going, they won’t always be there.
Apocalypse No
It’s springtime where we live. Our backyard is exploding with azalea blooms and the bulbs from Grandma’s farm. From the looks of it you would never guess Mother Earth is struggling.
How do we take in and digest the urgency of our shared disaster about to happen and not feel like we’re on the verge of throwing up all the time?
How do we, little ol me, do anything significant? Anything that can make a difference?
It feels like we just need to bow our heads, say a prayer, and kiss our butts goodbye. And wail for our children.
I’m not a quitter. And I’m sure billions would agree in wanting our planet to survive. We’ll likely be dead before it melts. But I freak out if our kids get a paper cut. Antibacterial ointment and bandaid. Stat! (the nurse in me can’t help it)
The idea of bailing on them to deal with this mess isn’t an option.
Come together right now
This is where faith and trust come in. There’s no black and white scientific hard evidence that proves if we bring the power of our shared intent together it will make a difference. But science is really theory backed with the best evidence we can study and argue at the moment.
I love and respect science. Our son has bionic ears because of science. Steve Majors, the 6 Million Dollar Man, was no joke. And I also believe in and experience miracles. There’s room for both.
We have to do whatever we’re called to do to help wake each other up. And we have to join our awake spirits. Connecting in our thoughts and actions.
I’ll think of you when I’m working out tomorrow towards that pullup I’ve promised myself to get one of these days. Have a piece of my strength. And when I’m struggling, I might be calling on you for some focus. Or whatever it is you’re sending into the ethers.
We can patch the ozone, and turn down the heat, and stop the warring, and share this blue oasis with all the creatures that have the same right we do to live on.
The secret is in the joining.
I Love it!
